Activating Your Service
Your Germany mobile phone number is written on the back of the SIM card holder and begins with 0176.
Put the SIM card into the mobile phone*
Be sure that the battery is charged
Turn on your phone and enter the PIN code^
Set your phone to the GSM 1800 frequency
Start calling**
*You will need to snap out the thumbnail sized GERMANY SIM card along the perforated edge of its holder and then insert the GERMANY SIM card into your international cell phone with the gold contacts of the GERMANY SIM card facing the metal contacts of your international cellular phone.
^In the case where you tried to enter the wrong pin code 3 times then your mobile phone will be blocked. You may then unblock the phone by entering PUK. Save the PIN and the PUK codes in a safe place.
**When calling overseas from the United States to your GERMANY cellular phone number callers will need to dial 011 followed by the country code 49 and then your GERMANY cell phone number omitting the first zero. To call abroad from your GERMANY cell phone simply dial 00 followed by the country code, area code, and phone number. For example, to call UStronics.com, you would dial 0017034444077.
Adding Talk Time
From time to time, your prepaid GERMANY SIM card may need to be recharged with airtime credit. Additional Talk time may be added by purchasing vouchers at any shop or petrol station displaying the logo O2. Airtime reloads (also called airtime vouchers) are available at most convenience stores, petrol stations and generally any store selling newspapers throughout GERMANY.
