    Recharge Your Global SIM Card

The UM+ Global Prepaid SIM Card (Formerly known as Riiing) is the most economical Global Prepaid Roaming SIM card for Global use, ever. Among many other advantages the UM+ Global Prepaid SIM Card offers FREE incoming calls within 80 Countries specially throughout most European destinations and very reasonable outgoing call rates, including a special Ring-to-ring cellular tariff of only €.29/min ($.40/min.) good in over 140 countries around the world. When coupled with an international GSM cell phone, your UM Global Prepaid SIM Card allows you to call friends, family, colleagues and clients with one international phone number and your own cellular phone.

For international travel involving multi-country, short duration trips, the UM+ Global Prepaid SIM Card is a nice piece of cheap insurance that fits into the back of your wallet (and GSM cell phone) and unlike home, your global roaming cellular phone service is prepaid so there is no need for a contract.

For longer term stays at a single destination, there is simply no substitute for the call quality and convenience of local service with a local number in the country you are visiting. In these cases we suggest purchasing a local prepaid SIM chip.

    What's included?

  • The UM+ Global Prepaid SIM Card for your cell phone
  • Airtime credit € 10 / $14.00
  • Incoming calls are FREE in much of Europe (over 80 countries)
  • International roaming in over 140 countries
  • Voicemail
  • Incoming SMS are FREE and outgoing are only €.39/$.55 per msg.
  • Number portability > One number in over 140 countries
  • No yearly contract, monthly charges or credit check

Note: Your UM+ Global Prepaid SIM Card will require a SIM unlocked compatible international cellular phone. If you do not already own an international cell phone, then there a wide variety of models available for your review to purchase by clicking here.

    Activating Your Service

Like most prepaid SIM cards, the service is pre-activated, with your cell phone number printed on the back of your UM+ SIM Card. Your cellular phone number is based in the UK and will begin with +44.

  • Insert the UM+ Global SIM card into the mobile phone*
  • Be sure the battery on your international cell phone is charged
  • Turn on your phone
  • Enter the PIN Code on your UM Global Prepaid SIM Card
  • In the United States, set your cell phone to the GSM 850/1900 frequencies (if applicable), if you are in Europe set your phone to 900/1800 Mhz. If you have a Triband or a Quadband GSM Phone, we advise to set the network selection feature to "Detect Network Automatically".
  • You are now ready to make and receive calls**

*You will need to snap out the thumbnail sized UM+ Global Prepaid SIM Card along the perforated edge of its holder and then insert the prepaid SIM card into your international cell phone with the gold contacts of the UM+ Global Prepaid SIM Card facing the metal contacts of your international cellular phone.

^ Your PIN code is a four digit code located on the PIN/PUK information card that accompanies your SIM card. The PUK is only required to unblock you phone if you enter in a PIN code incorrectly. Follow your cell phone manual instructions to correctly use the PUK to unblock your phone along with PIN2.

**When calling from the United States to your UM Global cellular phone number callers will need to dial 011 followed by your UM (Riiing) cell phone number. To make an outgoing call from your global roaming SIM card, simply dial the "+" followed by the country code and phone number. As an example, to call UStronics you would dial "+" 1-703-444-4077.

    How To Make Calls

  • Important notes: Always dial Numbers with the full international dialing code. In addition, after dialing with your UM+ (Riiing) SIM, you will be briefly disconnected and receive a call back. Answer normally and wait for the call to be connected. If you have problems making calls, try selecting another network.

    1. Dial number with "+" country code (1 for the US) , phone number
    2. Press key
    3. Your phone will display "Waiting For Call"
    4. Wait for call back and pick up with your key like on a normal call
    5. After a short while (10 to 30 seconds) the connection will be set and the phone will start to ring on the other side
    6. Finish the call by pressing

There are not any special procedures to follow when receiving an incoming call. So, to answer and incoming call, simply press the key.

Example: To call Switzerland, enter +41 1 311 3315 , wait for your phone to begin ringing and just pick it up!

    Service Life

Your UM+ Global SIM card will remain in good standing so long as you use your airtime credit within 9 months. If you do not do this, the UM+ Global SIM card will expire, the phone Number will be recycled and all remaining airtime credit will be forfeit.

    Network

The UM+ Global SIM card can roam on multiple networks within a single country.

For example, in England there are 5 networks and Italy there are 4 networks. With your UM+ Global SIM card, you can actually switch between these networks to get the best/strongest network and your airtime rate always remains the same. This is a GSM thing (thank the Europeans, seriously) and it is a very powerful feature of global roaming SIM cards for international travel.

So if you're getting a weak signal or having trouble completing an outgoing call, simply switch networks. This will require you to know how to use the Network feature of your cell phone so crack open that manual (if you haven't already thrown it out) and find out where and how to change Networks with your prepaid SIM card. It only takes a minute to do once you know where this feature on your global phone menu is located.

    Voice mail

Call "077" to listen to messages received. Follow the voice instructions to change your voice mail settings.
